The Wilson Borough Civil Service Commission is seeking applicants to establish an Eligibility List for the position of Police Officer (full-time). Applications may be obtained in the Borough Office, 2040 Hay Terrace Easton, PA between the hours of 8:30AM-4:00PM or on the Wilson Borough website, www.wilsonborough.org.

 

Completed applications may be filed starting on Wednesday March 25, 2026 at 9:00 am and no later than 3:00 pm Friday April 24, 2026. A non-refundable fee in the form of a money order for $35.00 must be submitted with the application. Completed applications may be hand delivered to 2040 Hay Terrace Easton PA 18042. Completed applications and the money order may also be delivered via mail to the same address, attention: Jill Garcia.

 

The physical agility and written tests are scheduled for Saturday May 02, 2026 at 9:00 am. All applicants must be a United States Citizen and have reached their 21st birthday before submitting the application. They must also possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a Police Officer, possess a PA Operator’s License prior to appointment, have successfully completed ACT 120 (Municipal Police Officers Training) and be eligible for immediate certification as a Police Officer by time of appointment.

 

Veteran’s preference is given to qualified veterans pursuant to the Veteran’s Preference Act. Applicants MUST submit copies of their operator’s license, Act #120 certification (if obtained prior to appointment), or a current MPOETC card, and a DD Form 214 if claiming Veteran’s Preference.

 

Applicants are required to take and pass a written examination, oral examination, and a physical agility test.  Successful applicants selected from the Eligibility List will be required to take and pass a physical & psychological examination and a background investigation to include a polygraph examination.

 

Wilson Borough Police Department offers excellent benefits with a 2026 starting salary of $67,787. Senior Patrol Officer expected to be approximately $100,000. Wilson Borough also offers tuition reimbursement towards Act #120 Certification from a PA Municipal Police Academy, compensation for hours completed during the academy, and a $5,000 sign on bonus for those with prior law enforcement experience.
