Quality of Life Ordinance – What Residents Need to Know
Wilson Borough has a Quality-of-Life Ordinance designed to help keep our neighborhoods clean, safe, and well maintained.
The ordinance allows authorized Borough officials to issue Quality of Life (QOL) tickets for common property maintenance and neighborhood violations, including high grass and weeds, rubbish and garbage, littering, animal waste, improper trash container storage, snow and ice removal, outdoor storage of indoor furniture or appliances, and other property maintenance concerns.
How Does It Work?
If you receive a Quality-of-Life ticket:
- Correct the violation within the timeframe provided.
- Pay or appeal the ticket within 10 days.
- Do not ignore the ticket. Additional assessments and enforcement action may result if the ticket is not addressed.
For many QOL violations, ticket amounts are:
1st Offense — $25
2nd Offense — $50
3rd and Subsequent Offenses — $100
Repeated or continuing violations may result in additional tickets or a formal citation.

The goal of the Quality-of-Life Ordinance is to encourage violations to be corrected quickly and help maintain the quality of life in our community.
