TRASH INFORMATION
Monday: Beginning on Wood Avenue and ending with the odd house number of Ferry Street.
Tuesday: Beginning on even house numbers on Ferry Street and ending with the odd house numbers on Butler Street.
Wednesday: Beginning with the even numbered houses on Butler Street (18th Street to 25th Street) and ending with the odd house numbers on Freemansburg Avenue (18th Street to 21st Street), Hay Street odd house Numbers (21st Street to 25th Street).
Friday: Beginning with the even house numbers on Butler Street (15th Street to 18th Street), and ending with the even house numbers on Freemansburg Avenue (18th Street to 21st Street), Hay Street even house numbers (21st Street to 25th Street) and everything South through Avona and Firmstone Street.
We observe 5 major holidays a year:
- New Years Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
If your pickup falls on one of our scheduled holidays, we will collect your garbage and recycling the next day.
Your pickup may be delayed but we will work diligently to get all routes collected by the end of the week.
The contract allows for five (5) bags, or two (2) thirty-two (32) gallon containers for each collection of trash. Bulk items are restricted to one item per month, which shall be placed out on your collection day the first FULL week of each month.
LMR Disposal will remove and dispose of your extra (over the contract limits) trash for an additional modest per bag fee.

RECYCLING INFORMATION
Single stream (also known as “fully commingled” or “single-sort”) recycling refers to a system in which all paper fibers, plastics, metals, and other containers are mixed in a collection truck, instead of being sorted by the depositor into separate commodities (newspaper, paperboard, Corrugated fiberboard, plastic, glass, etc.) and handled separately throughout the collection process. In single stream, both the collection and processing systems are designed to handle this fully commingled mixture of recyclables, with materials being separated for reuse at a materials recovery facility.
Just as a reminder, the recycle centers LMR utilizes do not accept any type of plastic bags. Recycling in plastic bags is considered contaminated and will not be taken.

Proponents of single stream note several advantages:
- Reduced sorting effort by residents may mean more recyclables are placed at the curb and more residents may participate in recycling.
- Reduced collection costs because single-compartment trucks are cheaper to purchase and operate, collection can be automated, and collection routes can be serviced more efficiently.
- Greater fleet flexibility which allows single compartment vehicles to be used for refuse or recycling, providing greater fleet flexibility and reducing the number of reserve vehicles needed. To avoid confusing customers, a large sign or banner is sometimes used to distinguish when a refuse truck is being used for recycling.
- Worker injuries may decrease because the switch to single stream is often accompanied by a switch from bins to cart-based collection.
- Changing to single stream may provide an opportunity to update the collection and processing system and to add new materials to the list of recyclables accepted.
- More paper grades may be collected, including junk mail, telephone books and mixed residential paper.
